As a service business, AKS is nothing without the people who work there.  We select only the best people to come and work with us and keep only the ones who have the same drive as we do.

AKS is a team made up of very talented and driven individuals all striving together to create an experience, not just a lesson.  This year AKS has taken on two very capable female instructors thus changing the tone of lessons and creating a much more balanced team

Darren Marshall - Owner and Retail Manager

Darren has taught kitesurfing since 2000 and started the school in Sydney in the sports infancy.  Darren still teaches from time to time and is possibly the most well known instructor in Australia having been an IKO Examiner and Power kite trainer for the last 6 years teaching around 300 instructors worldwide and countless students in his own and other schools overseas.  Darren now runs the retail side of the business and together with Jason drive the AKS name to improve every year.

Jason Golding - School Manager

Jason comes to us from the East Coast where he runs his own successful school and retail Kitesurf and Windsurfing Business.  Jason has been in business "in the industry" for 20+ years.  His maturity, experience and industry knowledge will see a continued high level of service to all our customers as he accepts the most important job of running the staff and school on the beach. 

Christian - Instructor

Christian comes from Quebec in Canada where he has been a snowboarding instructor trainer for many years.  He joined AKS at the start of the 2010/2011 season after completing his instructors course.  His years of teaching snowboarding and his passion for kiteboarding makes him an excellent instructor.  Christian can be found kiting at every available opportunity when he isn't conducting lessons.  We're glad to have him aboard.

Tamlyn - Instructor

Tamlyn joined our team in 2010/2011 season after having completed her instructor training course a year ago.  Her ability to relate easily to people and get her message across whilst being playful and enjoying the learning process makes her a fun and capable instructor.  Tamlyn is also starting a kitesurf based fashion clothing business and shows great talent in this area also.  We enjoy having Tamlyn on our team.

Charl - Instructor

Charl has been teaching with AKS for 3 years now.  His high level of riding ability and ability to articulate information readily with a relaxed style make him a good instructor and an important member of the AKS team

Cristiana - Instructor

Cristiana has joined us recently and is possibly our most qualified instructor.  She is accredited First Aider, Surf Life Saver, Swim instructor and also a certified worker with children.  Cristiana comes to us after having worked at other schools and is dedicated to improving her teaching experience.  We are very happy to have her on board.
