Being an IKO Affiliated centre is different to just having IKO instructors. An Affiliated centre is a branding of quality, it means that the school has to conform to a rigid standard of safety and carry out formal risk assessments for all our teaching locations which are scrutinized by IKO and their insurers, it means we must have a rescue boat on hand, we must all be First Aid trained and have systems in place for checking and maintaining our equipment to a minimum standard of safety and function. We can only employ IKO Instructors and we also uphold the standards of IKO in respect to services and accountability. There are some schools who offer IKO instruction, but this is only a small part of the package as the remainder is about quality and upkeep, insurance and professionalism. Few schools meet with the criteria of Affiliated centre because they do not have the level of commitment to providing the best and safest lessons.
