The Toeside Back Flip is a fun move starting from toeside and finishing on toeside, it is simply like doing a back flip into the pool. Start off with plenty of speed and your kite at either 10.30 or 1.30 clock position (depending on direction traveled) and hop or slide to toeside (switch). When you are in some nice smooth water or see a little ramp to spring off, take your back hand off the bar, hold the bar as close to the center as you can with your front hand to limit the input you will have, and turn your harness or spreader bar towards your leading side of your torso. This will allow you to rotate in a different plane from usual, with the axis of rotation being from the side instead of the front. Rail the board slightly up into the wind to gain some "pop" and throw your head backwards whilst arching your back as you would do to flip into a pool from the edge. Once you leave the water, tuck your legs up tight into your chest to facilitate rotation and spot your landing as you come around. At this point you can add a nice indy grab for extra style. Un-tuck as you come in to land and keep your knees bent. This move is relatively easy to learn and there are no nasty consequences as you do not use the kite, as such you rotate close to the water so you need to tuck to roll fast. It is the initiation of this move which makes it a flip instead of a roll. Give it a go and have fun.
