Table Top
Table Top
Table top jumps are super easy and when tweaked, look great. The idea is to twist the board upside down and backwards to the direction of travel. In general your body does not get inverted but the bottom of the board should end up like a "table top". To start the trick, get plenty of speed and boost a nice big jump keeping the bar pressure "on" to give you hangtime. Swing your legs up forward and at the same time twist from the hips and waist, backwards away from the direction of travel before the jump. Pull down on the bar towards your leading hip and hold it against your hip, this will initiate the 180 degree twist as you swing your legs up over your head. A harness with a sliding spreader bar will make this trick easier than one that is fixed in the centre. Bone your back leg out at the peak of the jump. You can also let go of your back hand to open your body out and really tweak and accentuate the twist. Taking your back hand off the bar also allows the kite to be redirected forward to you can land with some power. After the top of the jump, allow your board to fall back down and straighten your body into the direction of the landing. Bend your knees and land. Ride away smiling!
