The Tail whip board off PDF Print Email
The Tail whip board off is one of the easiest board off moves and doesn't require masses of flexibility (good for old blokes like me!). Refer to the previous instruction on Board off to initiate the jump. On the way up, grab the tail of the board for a boned out tail grab, and kick your feet out of the straps once you have a firm grip on the tail. Once your feet are free, using gravity to initiate the whip, swing the board around in a 360 using the boards weight. As the board comes around about 270 degrees, let go of the tail and catch the grab handle or indy rail and crouch up to place your feet back in the straps. This jump is definitely helped by practicing the tail whip on the beach. Make sure you practice on the sand as over concrete or ashphalt damages your board when you drop it. Land the jump as you would in trick #23.
