Earning the IKO diploma to teach kiteboarding is a most rewarding occupation and offers a career progression up to Examiner or Training Master with the ability to travel to exotic kiting locations, sharing your passion and knowledge with others. Earn good money, travel and give back to others as an IKO Instructor. Every day is a beach day! AKS hosts at least two ITC's per year right here in Perth, WA. Costs are $790 USD+GST, are run over 5 consecutive full days and upon successful completion of the course grants the candidate with a Level 1, IKO Instructor Diploma. This course is the highest standard Instructor Training Course (ITC) available. The course is run by IKO Examiner, Darren Marshall in Perth's northern suburbs.  Instructors The course is made up of three different parts; theory in the class including special topic presentations and exams. Secondly, theoretical and practical boat rescue, and launch and landing procedures from a boat, and finally two days of live practice with real students, feedback sessions and instruction demonstrations.You will learn: All about safety systems, kites and bars, school setups, aerodynamics, meteorology, oceanology, risk assessment, location analysis, the IKO teaching principal, basic human psychology, as well as much more. and of course have all of your new found knowledge put to the test in class situation and in live teaching with students on the beach. Having a deeper understanding of the sport will also have ripple effects on how you ride and how you view the sport. - Have a boat drivers license or equivalent competencies (if applic)
- Have a valid First Aid certificate
- Have previous teaching experience preferably in water or air sports or Assistant IKO Instructor Training
- Have been kiting for at least 6 months at IKO Level 3 or higher.
- Be at least an IKO Level 3 kiteboarder.
