For those who have known us over the last couple of years, you would have noted that every year we, build, add, improve and change our business so that it continues reflect the type of experience you are looking for.  As the gear changes every season, peoples requirements change and so our business and more specifically in this case, our website is constantly evolving to provide an improved experience and always in tune with the latest developments in kites and boards.

Latest news is that we have cloned, stripped and rebuilt a whole new website from the original shell, no there's nothing wrong with the old one, in fact the old one will have a spring clean also eventually, but that aside, the new website will be more retail customer focused.  The existing and new sites will reflect the two faces of AKS - Lessons/school, and sales/retail.  We have kept the same theme for familiarity (Don't want to freak out any of our existing loyal customers!) .

By seperating our two sides of the business on the web, we hope to be able to provide a more useful and focused experience for people searching for information on specific products as well as keen pricing and free delivery.  The new website "www.aksonline.com.au " will carry a greater range of our products in our online catalogue than the school shop ever did, as well as have more indepth info, reviews, latest products, featured products and other pages of interest without having all of the school and progression stuff.

We have made it easier by turning "off" the old school "shop page" and have replaced it with a link to the new website so that you seemlessly just appear on the new "AKS Online Webshop".  Snazzy eh?  You can check it out right now if you like.  It isn't finished as we have so much content to add to it, but there is a lot of new 2010 kites and boards added already so you have some info to read up on.  Reviews will be added as we get time to use and play with the new stuff.

AKS is stoked to announce we recently became appointed as the Western Australian Dealer of Core Kites. 

German brand Core Kites are a young brand with a rapidly growing reputation for excellent kites and are now keen to take their place in the Australian market.  The parent company Carved create some of the finest custom boards in Europe and are now putting their skilled hands to producing amazing kites.

Previous kite, the CORE COMBAT was designed purely as a wave riding kite and was well accepted on it's tough build and quality of construction not to mention some of the design considerations such as the unique fully spinning chicken loop and line untwisting bar setup with mini fifth line.

2009 Core Combat GT

The COMBAT GT is a 4 line SLE delta shaped kite with mini fifth line for safety.  The kite is stable and stall resistant making it perfect for wave rippers along with unhooked riders throwing down insane freestyle.  Big air kiters will appreciate the kites ability to soar and provide amazing hangtime.

Core ESP Bar

The bar is a very clean setup with the 5th line running through the centre of the chicken loop keeping it free from tangling when spinning the bar.  The adjustable bar can be changed in moments from small (45cm) to wide (57cm) making the one bar size suitable for all sizes of kite from 5m to 15m.  All lines are 24m in length.

2009 Core Combat

AKS are super stoked to announce we have implemented a new Online Booking System, AKOBS (Australian Kiteboarding Online Booking System).

This will make it easier for you to make a booking on any date with availability.  Once logged in, you can see who is booked in, check times available, make single or multiple bookings for you and your friends, re-schedule bookings and cancel bookings (outside of 12hrs from lesson start time) all from the comfort of your home office or laptop computer anywhere you have internet access. 

You can make bookings all the way to the end of the season and everywhere in between.  Once you have created a login and have made a booking we will contact you within 24hrs to make payment over the phone.  You can either pay by credit card or by direct deposit which we can discuss on the phone.  Once your payment is accepted, we will confirm your booking.

AKOBS sends you reminder emails, allows you to join a wait list on fully booked days and automatically slots you into a lesson should there be cancelations in that time slot.  AKOBS gives you ever more flexibility and control over your bookings and training experience with us.

North joins Ozone and Airush in our retail truck and makes up our third and final brand for the season.  We will be stocking kites and boards from November and of course will have spares, demo kites and boards which you can test ride right on the beach in front of our shop.

AKS is the only retailer that is situated on the beach so you can get bits and pieces, Pat Love and Flying Objects harnesses and spares as required (when or preferrably just before they break).  We can also help with trimmimg your kite and modifying/modernising older bar systems to safer setups by adding new chicken loop systems or safetys.  We can also help with leaking bladders and some smaller kite repairs right on the spot.  We can also do temporary board repairs to keep your session going.

Australian Kiteboarding School has grown this summer and has branched out into sales (Australian Kiteboarding Sales).  The school was starting to suffer from the amount of time and energy being put into the sales so we felt it was time to seperate the two parts of the business to better serve our customers.

Our beach manager, Ed, will now take all calls for lessons on 0407 012 220 and Darren will be looking after sales and demos of all kites and boards.  The normal trailer will be at the beach as per usual

AKS have recently refitted an ex-mobile tool van to become our new mobile retail presence.  The truck will primarily be based at Pinnaroo Point unless on demo.  The van will carry all our normal stock of kiteboarding equipment, a full range of demo gear as well as landboarding equipment, helmets, sunglasses etc etc.

The Sales side of the business is now mobile and as such has a new number.  Please call us if you need kites, boards, harnesses and any manner of bits and pieces.  We are available until dark everyday of the week.  We are the only shop that can and will come to you!  Instead of going to a kitesurf shop to grab one demo board or kite, why not call us and we'll bring up to 20 kites and 10 boards for you to demo at your local spot, in your conditions, so you know what you are riding is going to really suit you.

Welcome to the Australian Kiteboarding School website and online kiteboarding shop.   Australian Kiteboarding School is a Perth based, premier kitesurfing school offering highest quality kitesurfing lessons on a daily basis between September and May.  We are here to help customers learn to kiteboard safely in Perth.  We are the only school in Perth that do professional one on one instruction, teaching beginners to learn kitesurfing efficiently, safely and whilst having a blast.  We take our school seriously and want to provide the best possible experience to our customers. 

Our two managers, Owner and retail manager Darren Marshall, and School manager Ed Teo, are the only two IKO Examiners (instructor trainers) in Australia, having taught thousands of lessons and hundreds of instructors over the years gives us the kind of experience all other schools can only envy.  It is our job to implement and live the standard and to improve it.  No one has more experience or higher accreditation than AKS which means you're getting the best training possible.

In 2010 AKS celebrates it's 10 year anniversary of providing first class training.  In the past 10 years, AKS has never had a major injury, this is testimony our methods equipment and techniques are the best and safest in the industry and are the product of a 10 year evolution in perfomance and safety.  The Australian Kiteboarding School has been using accredited IKO and prior to IKO, WSN, Instructors since 2001.

We are all about kiting, all aspects of kiting, and are excited to be able to share our passion with others.  There is something magic about flying a kite, even the smaller trainer kites.  It's hard to describe, but I feel it has something to do with the power, the smooth movement and colour that appeals to the unconscious mind that relaxes us so much when flying kites, or maybe it's the freedom of silent traction, or the thrill of controlling masses of potential energy.  Whatever it is for you, it can be found in the ensuing pages of this website.

Kitesurfing is a relatively new sport (since about 1999 in Oz) that has taken the worlds foreshores by storm.  The swelling in numbers of people from all walks of life, of every age group is in itself testimony to the power of the attraction of the kite.    All sporting backgrounds are represented in its members, from wakeboarders, kite flyers, windsurfers, surfers, snowboarders, skaters, paragliders and pilots, not to mention the hordes of people entering the sport with no athletic or board sport back ground at all.
