Radio Equipment

Since the introduction of the Headzone Coaching system radios, lesson numbers have been reduced as students hear concise instruction exactly as they need it in 'real time' without having an instructor yelling from the beach or roaring along next to you in a noisy boat or ski. We were the first and offer the largest range of helmet sizes of any Western Australian kiting school.

This communication system is employed in our intermediate rider clinics for coaching through more advanced tricks and riding. Riders are "talked through" tricks in real time to achieve results immediately rather than using multiple attempts taking time and a toll on your body and gear.

AKS is run by two out of the worlds 20 or so IKO Examiners.  Ed Teo (School Manager) and Darren Marshall (Owner) have taught thousands of hours and as many students and have both passed the training required to teach others to be instructors, Darren and Ed, insist on using the AKS as a showcase for how lessons should be conducted and how a school can be if taken to the limits of professionalism. 

We are one of the very few kiteboarding schools in Australia, which carry the IKO Affiliated Kiteboarding Centre status. This means we conform to the only internationally recognised standard for kiteboarding instruction. As an IKO Centre, of course we also carry full public liability insurance for the public and our students, and have current local government permits and C.A.L.M. commercial license to trade on the beaches and use our marine park waterways. 

AKS also supply late model Australian Standards approved water sports Life jackets, new Pat Love, Malik and Eve waist Harnesses, quality Headzone Radio coaching Helmets, and a backup Rescue Boat. A full time and on hand First Aid Kit and emergency procedures card, are all available during lessons to create the safest possible learning environment. You will never get a safer and more enjoyable lesson than with AKS.
